early christmas with grandma and grandpa

Our new tradition is to do Christmas with our family and Mark's parents early. Last year we did it on Christmas Eve, and this year we did it on the 22nd. It works out great because it breaks up the gifts for my girls, making things a little less overwhelming, and it is fun for the grandparents to get to see their reactions and spend some time with them.
Also a tradition, is the Nativity play. Last year everyone was involved, but this year only the girls. Emmy was replaced by a doll because she moves way too much to be the baby Jesus. Maybe next year she'll make the cut.
Megan was our sweet Mary and Abby was our aloof Joseph. Mary admiring her new baby.

After the Nativity, my girls performed in a little show. They sang songs together, as well as some solos from Megan and Abby. Megan played the piano and read us a Christmas story. (She is such a performer. The last day before Christmas she sang Jingle bells in front of the whole school. Where did she get this from? Not me, I would have rather died than have to sing by myself infront of my elementary school. Even now, I still would have a heart attack if I was to do so. I'm not feeling it coming from Mark's side either. Anyone???)
Abby's on her way to being a performer as well. The Mageras Sisters.
After a nice dinner, it was time for presents. Good timing too, because at this point, Megan was about to burst from anticipation.
Abby ripping in!
Emmy's fun little farm was a hit. We didn't even take it out of the box until the end of the night, she was happy to play with it in the box.
A Leapster for Megan.

The chocolate cake was a great way to end the night for Abs.
Emily held up well! I wasn't sure how she'd react to the chaos of opening presents, but she quickly let us know that this was all good with her!
