On Conference Saturday, Megan and a cousin were playing at our house. They asked to go downstairs to the preschool room. I said they could only play with the toys, nothing else. All my preschool supplies were behind a closed storage door, so I thought, what trouble can they get into with toys???
Well...
Megan came upstairs to tell me her cousin had spilt paint on the floor. Well, I would have been lucky it it were just paint! Opened paint containers, everywhere. My little preschool kitchen refrigerator, covered in paint, big paint spot on the carpet, my walls were written on, my preschool table scratched, and tons of preschool papers and supplies ruined. Total destruction.
Well, a good mom probably would have taken a picture for the blog. But, I yelled. And yelled. I sent them upstairs. Then called them back to yell some more. Megan wasn't the mastermind, but she certainly knows better than to sit by while this is happening.
Fast Forward to my point
to last Sunday. Megan comes up to our room, and says, "Mom, I want to give you all my money for the carpet in the preschool room. She proceeds to start emptying her coins on the bed. I told her she didn't have to give me all her money. But, she said she wanted to. She said she didn't want her cousin to be the only person who had to pay for it.
The incident hadn't been mentioned for days, but it interesting to see how things sink in and to have her come up with an offering all on her own.
And, she threw in the purse along with the deal.
